      Married and previously divorced parents may adopt children from Ukraine. Parents must be 15 years older than the child to be adopted but no more than 45 years older than the child and in good general health.

    • How old are the children available for adoption?

      Healthy newborns become available for adoption after a 14 month waiting period. Infants and children having a disease as specified by the Minister of Public Health Protection have no waiting period.

  • Kazakhstan

    • Who can adopt children from Kazakhstan?

      Married and previously divorced parents may adopt from Kazakhstan. Applicants must be in good general health. Parents must be a minimum of 18 years older than the child to be adopted but no more than 50 years old.

    • How old are the children available for adoption?

      Healthy newborns become available after a 9 month waiting period. Infants and children having a disease as specified by the Minister of Public Health Protection have no waiting period.

    • Can more than one child be adopted at the same time?

      Yes. According to Kazakhstan, sibling groups can be adopted at the same time. Please check with the local regulations for your residence regarding the number of children that can be adopted at the same time.

  • Bulgaria

    • Who can adopt from Bulgaria?

      Married couples, divorced parents and singles may adopt from Bulgaria. Parents must be a minimum of 18 years old and at least 15 years older than the child to be adopted. There is no age restriction on the adoptive applicants.

    • How old are the children available for adoptions?

      Children are legally available at the age of 1 and over.

    • Can more than one child be adopted at the same time?
